Description
The Smithy is a former smithy and attached cottage dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of dressed stone and features a Welsh slate roof. The building is single storey and one room deep, with a lobby entry. The doorway has a chamfered surround, and the windows also have chamfered surrounds, featuring 12-pane sash windows on the left and right. In the former smithy, there is a small square window and a Victorian mullioned window, both fitted with casements that have many small squared panes. The rear of the building has similar windows, as well as a stable door. There are two stacks with caps, and a 19th-century iron railing with hooped tops and spiked finials on the gateposts. A mid-20th century dormer window is also present.
