Description

The gates, gatepiers, and flanking walls at the entrance to Nazareth House were built in 1905 by E. Goldie from London. The structure features iron gates, red brick piers, and walls with painted stone dressings. The two-leaf gates have scrolled lockrails, turned middle and outer verticals adorned with water leaves, and waisted obelisk finials. The top rail is curved, and there is a scrolled mock overthow. The piers are designed with chamfered plinths and have bands inscribed with "NAZARETH" on the left and "HOUSE" on the right, topped with heavily-moulded cornices and ball-and-stem finials. The walls have flat copings, and there is a round-headed, panelled door in the right wall. This structure is included for its group value, while the adjoining walls and railings on the left and right are not considered of special interest.
