Description
No. 15 on The Front in Middleton St. George is a former post office, now used for storage, dating from the early 19th century. The building features incised render on brick and has a Welsh slate roof with rebuilt brick chimney stacks. It is two storeys tall and has two bays. The late 19th to early 20th century wood shop front includes a set-back replaced door with an overlight on the right and a large four-light window on the left, which has thin wood mullions and a transom. The window and door are framed by pilasters with a plain fascia and cornice. Above, there are two replaced four-pane sash windows with projecting painted stone sills. The eaves cornice and low parapet add to the building's character, while the roof features stone-coped gables and end stacks. This building is included for its group value with No. 14.
