Description
No. 11 Houndgate is a large late 18th-century town house that stands three storeys high with a basement and features seven bays, with the central bay being wider. The house has a low-pitched hipped roof covered with slate and a replaced moulded eaves cornice. The exterior is constructed of pinkish brick and has gauged brick arches above replaced sash windows that are set in flush wood architraves. The central door has been replaced and features an oblong fanlight, framed by a late 19th or early 20th-century brick surround with roll moulding and a pedimented hood. Additionally, there are wrought iron area railings with urn finials at intervals, standing on a low stone plinth.
