Description

This is an early 19th-century pair of buildings located on Woodland Road. Each building is two storeys and two windows wide. Number 178 has a blank panel above its entrance. The buildings are constructed of pinkish brick, with a low-pitched slate roof and central and end chimneys. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set in flush wood architraves and sit under flat, gauged brick arches. Each building has a six-panel door with an oblong fanlight above. Number 178 has a later 19th-century extension facing Deneside Road. Number 180 incorporates a northern garage which is formed from an 18th-century two-storey, two-window cottage constructed of rubble stone and featuring a high-pitched pantiled roof.
