Description

The Hog Hill Tunnel north entrance is a railway tunnel entrance arch built between 1832 and 1833 by T.E. Harrison, with R. Stephenson serving as the consulting engineer for the Stanhope and Tyne Railroad Company. The structure is made of sandstone rubble, with some areas rendered. It features a high retaining wall that contains a segmental arch made of voussoirs. At the time of the survey, some facing stones were missing.
