Description
Healeyfield Bridge is a bridge that carries a track from Healeyfield farm over the railway. It was built around 1832 by T.E. Harrison, with R. Stephenson as the consulting engineer, for the Stanhope and Tyne Railroad Company. The bridge is constructed from coursed squared pinkish sandstone with ashlar dressings. It features a horse-shoe arch made of voussoirs and has a drip-band. The parapets are higher on the south side and have flat stone coping on the east side, while the west side has renewed round coping. The parapets end in square end piers with continuous coping and there is a wide splay to the approaches. The south-east parapet was damaged at the time of the survey.
