Description
The front walls and gatepiers to Heatherlands, Gillbeck House, and The Yews are garden walls and gatepiers from the 18th century, likely modified in the early 20th century. They are constructed from squared stone with cut dressings. The walls are low and feature chamfered coping, although the original railings have been removed. The front wall of Heatherlands includes a gateway with low monolith gabled piers and end piers topped with block caps. Gillbeck House has a gateway with taller piers that have banded pyramidal caps. The Yews features a gateway with rusticated piers and block caps that support ball finials, while the drive entrance to the right has smaller but similar piers set on the wall. These structures are included for their group value. The 20th-century rails at The Yews are not of special interest.
