Description

No. 211 Gilesgate is a house built in the mid-18th century. It features Flemish bond brickwork with painted ashlar dressings, a rendered plinth, and a painted slate roof. The building has three storeys and three bays. To the right of the central bay, there is a six-panelled door set in an architrave with a hood supported by stone brackets and a panelled soffit. The windows have header course lintels and projecting stone sills, with sashes that include glazing bars, particularly those in the centre of the staircase at the lower level. There is an end brick chimney and a wrought iron grille on the left side leading to the cellar chute.
