Description

Two houses, dating to circa 1790. Number 199 has incised stucco rendering, while Number 200 is of painted brick with painted ashlar dressings. Both have a Welsh slate roof and brick chimneys. The houses are two storeys high, with an attic to Number 200, and have a four-bay facade. A slight rise in level leads to a six-panelled door and fanlight with radiating glazing bars, set within a doorcase constructed of slender, shafted Gothick pilasters and an open pediment on the left side of each house. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, the glazing bars of Number 199 having been renewed. Wedge stone lintels and projecting stone sills are present on all windows. Stone-coped parapets cap the walls; Number 200 has slate-hung cheeks to a pedimented dormer window on the right side. A central rainwater drain runs from the parapet to a cast-iron hopper. A central transverse ridge chimney has been extended to the right.
