Description
This milestone, located about 300 metres south of West Fines Wood, dates from the late 18th century and marks the distance on the Corbridge to West Auckland turnpike, indicating 12 miles from Corbridge and 18 miles from West Auckland. It is a painted stone block, although much of it is now obscured by a nearby wall, with the front displaying a deeply-cut letter "C".
