Description
The garden wall, located north-east of Woodlands Hall, dates from the early 19th century and was built for Thomas White. It features thin courses of stone topped with flat stone coping, and has a brick inner leaf on the north side. The wall has a quadrant plan, curving to the south-east. There is a flat stone lintel above a boarded door at the south-west corner, and the north wall includes flue openings on its north side. Thomas White was known for his plantations on the former Lanchester common, for which he received nine gold and two silver medals from the Society of Arts and Sciences.
