Description
East Knitsley Grange Farmhouse is a farmhouse from the mid-18th century that has undergone some alterations. It is constructed from irregular courses of sandstone rubble, featuring tooled ashlar dressings and quoins, topped with a stone-flagged roof and ashlar chimneys. The building is two storeys high with three bays, and there is a one-storey, two-bay extension on the right. The central entrance consists of a half-glazed door set in a chamfered stone surround. The windows, which have been renewed, feature new glazing, plain stone surrounds, and projecting stone sills. The steeply-pitched roof is adorned with corniced end chimneys, and the right extension has similar windows. Inside, the farmhouse displays many two-panelled doors with L hinges, and the dogleg staircase features stick balusters and a narrow round-topped handrail with a groove grip.
