Description

Milestone located 75 metres north of The Manor House, dating from the early 19th century. It is a single stone with a segmental top, standing approximately 0.75 metres high. The stone features carved inscriptions on two faces: "DURHAM (illegible) MILES" on the south-east face and "HOUGHTON-LE-SPRING 7 MILES" on the north-east face. The letters "O.S.B.M." are inscribed on the top.
