Description
Manor House Farmhouse is a house from the 17th century that was altered in the early 18th century and again in the later 20th century. It is built of coursed rubble with cut dressings and has a hardrow tile roof. The building has two storeys and three irregular bays, with a rough plinth. There is a four-panel door located between the right bays, set in an irregular surround of roughly-tooled blocks, and a blocked door on the right side of the left end bay. The ground floor features renewed 20-pane casements, while the upper floor has 16-pane casements, all within tooled stone surrounds. The first-floor windows were originally designed with two lights, and there are traces of earlier blocked windows. The gables are coped with moulded kneelers, and the end and ridge stacks have been rebuilt. A small four-pane casement is found on the right return.
Inside, there is an 18th-century fireplace with a lintel supported by moulded corbels, and an earlier hood bressumer that has a socket for a screen post. Additionally, there is a stone winder stair located in the rear turret.
