Description

No. 42 Claypath is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick with a painted ashlar plinth and dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building has three storeys and two bays. The entrance features a four-panelled door with a three-paned overlight to the right, set in a raised stone surround. The windows include renewed sashes in a two-storey canted bay, paired windows on the second floor, and smaller windows in the right bay on the top floor. The windows are adorned with header-course lintels and sill bands. A dog-tooth brick cornice runs along the top, and the steeply-pitched roof is capped by a brick chimney at the left end.
