Description

The farm buildings located 15 metres west of East Whorley Hill Farmhouse date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from dressed sandstone with quoins and feature pantiled roofs, some of which have a double row of sandstone flags at the eaves. This continuous, U-shaped range of farm buildings varies in height and encloses a paved stockyard.

The west range includes a single-storey, 2-bay cart shed to the south, which has two brick arches, a boarded door, and a lean-to roof. To the north is a 2-storey, 4-bay byre with a granary above, featuring central Dutch doors, a double row of breathers, and a hipped roof with flagged eaves.

The north range consists of a single-storey, 5-bay byre that has a blocked door, two Dutch doors, two 8-pane casements, and a roof with flagged eaves. The east range features a single-storey, 2-bay byre to the north that includes an 8-pane casement, a Dutch door, and a hipped roof with flagged eaves. Attached to the south of this byre is a low tool shed with a lean-to roof, and further south is a single-storey, 2-bay former cart shed with two arched openings and a Dutch door.

At the south end of the stockyard, there is a low wall with chamfered coping and a pair of centrally-placed gate piers. The detached stables to the north and the farmhouse to the east are not considered of special interest.
