Description
The garden wall to the north and east of Wycliffe Old Rectory is largely from the 18th century and constructed from coursed rubble, with some cut stone and brick dressings. The tall wall connects to the north-east corner of the Old Rectory and features a pointed archway with two square orders, also adorned with brick dressings. The external face of the north wall displays several blocked openings. The lower section of the wall on the east side has a coping that ramps down to a final short section that is 1.8 metres high. Near the north end of the east wall, which faces the churchyard, there is a part of a cross slab dating from around 1300. This wall is included for its group value with the Old Rectory.
