Description
Old Rectory West House is a house that was formerly a wing of the Rectory, likely built in the early 18th century. It is constructed of rubble, primarily river cobbles, with the right side rendered and color-washed, and features a stone slate roof. The west elevation has two storeys above a basement and consists of four bays. It includes 4-pane casements and a 4-pane sash window on the ground floor, with four 12-pane sashes above. At the far right, there is a garderobe projection with a small first-floor window and an exit chute near the bottom of the wall. The left gable is coped and has a small end stack, while the roof is hip-ended to the right. The right side shows two 4-pane sashes on each floor, and the garderobe projection on the left has a renewed door. The entrance through the garderobe turret is an unusual vernacular feature. The interior includes two rooms on the first floor of the Old Rectory building.
