Description
The outbuildings to the north of the Old Rectory, known as West House, date from the 18th century and may incorporate older masonry. They were altered in the 19th century. The structure is built of rubble with roughly-shaped quoins and cut dressings, topped with a graduated stone slate roof, except for pantiles on the coach house.
The east front, facing the stable yard, is divided into two sections. The left part is two storeys high with four bays; the left two bays are older and feature boarded double doors under a timber lintel, with 16-pane Yorkshire sash windows above. The right bays have ground-floor openings that were inserted later, with 12-pane sash windows above. There is a stack at the right end.
To the right, the single-storey coach house has a boarded door and slit vents, with a hipped roof sloping to the right. The right return displays boarded double doors under a segmental arch, which is adorned with tooled-and-margined voussoirs. The rear of the building has scattered fenestration, including 12-pane sashes and several blocked openings in the coach house.
