Description

Beech Grove, also known as The Grange, is a house that dates back to around 1830 and has been divided into two separate homes. The building features pecked and margined ashlar stonework, with prominent projecting quoins and a plinth. The roof is covered with graduated grey and green slates, topped with a lead ridge, while the extension uses Welsh slate.

The house is two storeys tall with three bays, plus a left-side addition that is one storey and one bay. Access is gained via two steps leading up to a central recessed six-panel door, which has a two-pane overlight above it. This door is framed by a surround made of alternate-block jambs and voussoirs. On either side of the door are tripartite sash windows with glazing bars, set beneath flat stone lintels, and on the first floor, there are three 16-pane sash windows with projecting stone sills.

The hipped roof is adorned with two wide banded ridge chimneys. The left extension features a flat stone lintel above a partly-glazed six-panel door, which is accompanied by sidelights and overlights, as well as a sill band for the sidelights.
