Description
Beech House and its attached outbuildings date from the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The house is built of mottled pink brick in English bond, resting on a sandstone plinth, while the outbuildings are constructed from coursed cobbles with orange-red brick lacing bands and have pantile roofs.
The house is two stories high and features a three-window front, with a lower two-story, three-bay outbuilding to the right and a further one-and-a-half-story outbuilding at the right end. The entrance to the house is located in the left return. The ground floor has a central window that is a 12-pane sash, while the first-floor central window is blocked. The remaining windows are 16-pane sashes, and all openings are segment-arched. There is a three-course band at the first floor and a raised eaves band, with stacks at both ends. The left return includes a four-panel door with an overlight.
The two-story outbuilding has a blocked loft opening at the right end and two other openings with three-light windows. A brick band at loft level is interrupted by vented openwork sections. The right return features open brickwork pigeon loft openings between tie rod ends that form the letters E and R. The one-and-a-half-story outbuilding has no openings on the street side but includes a shuttered pitching door in the right gable end.
