Description
The structure consists of garden walls, an outbuilding, and railings located to the south of Ovington Hall, dating from the mid-18th century. The materials include rubble with cut dressings, a stone slate roof on the outbuilding, and wrought-iron railings.
The east wall rises to 4 metres and features chamfered coping, with a curved step leading up to a boarded door. This door is set within a rusticated arch that includes imposts and a keystone. To the south, there is a low pent outbuilding that has a blocked stone-surround window and a 6-panel door in a raised stone surround, located on the internal face of the wall.
The south wall stands at 1 metre high and has similar coping that ramps up at each end, supporting low spiked railings. Near the east end, there is a gateway flanked by small rusticated piers topped with banded pyramidal caps.
The west wall is 2.5 metres high and features a boarded door in a raised stone surround. The northern part of this wall steps in, where an old privy is located at the angle before it connects to the south-west corner of the Hall.
The attached farm buildings on the exterior of the west wall are not considered to be of special interest.
