Description
Ovington Bridge is a bridge dated 1841, which was reinforced in the later 19th century. It is constructed from roughly-squared stone with cut dressings, while the later 19th-century sections are made of rock-faced stone with ashlar dressings. The bridge has a curved plan and features an original broad round arch that is flanked by raking buttresses. There is a band below the parapet with raised coping that ends in low rectangular piers. The arch has been later underbuilt by a smaller round arch, which includes an arch ring and impost blocks, also flanked by raking buttresses. The south-east wing wall is cut through by an entry to the village hall.
