The building comprises a late 18th-century outbuilding and former smithy located to the east of Ovington Hall. It is constructed of rubble with cut dressings, featuring pantile roofs, with 20th-century asbestos sheets at the rear of the smithy section. Brick stacks are also present. The left-hand portion is two storeys high and one bay wide, displaying 20th-century boarded double doors, with a 6-pane casement window above, and a small stack at the right end. The one-storey, two-bay right-hand section was formerly a smithy and contains two boarded double doors on either side of a window with blacksmith’s glazing; a stack is located at the right end.
