Description
This is an early 19th-century, five-bay barn with two storeys, located to the far southwest of Penhow Castle. It is built of random rubble and features a pantiled roof. In the third bay, there are a pair of full-height timber doors, and a ventilation slot is present on the ground floor of the eastern end. At the western end, there is a single-storey cartshed, also with a pantiled roof. To the east, there is a three-bay, open-fronted byre that has a gabled roof and is open on the northern side, with the wall plate supported by conical rubblestone piers. The eastern gable has a high-set rectangular opening with a boarded shutter, and the byre has a corrugated iron roof with a lean-to at the front. There is a later opening on the western end of the southern elevation.
