Description
The barn at Runston Farm is a Grade II listed building, built from roughly squared and coursed local rubble stone, topped with a pantiled roof. Various later lean-to corrugated iron sheds obscure parts of the structure. On the west side, there are two slit vents on either side of the central cart doors that lead to the threshing floor. The east side features a projecting gabled central porch with cart doors that face the opposite direction. The north gable, which faces the road, has small square vents for the tallet, while the south gable is not visible. Although the interior was not available for inspection during the resurvey, the barn is likely to have five bays and retains its original roof structure, as the pantiled roof appears unchanged.
