Description
14 Steep Street is part of a terrace of Regency houses that are stepped down the hillside. The walls are rendered, and the houses have slate roofs with matching narrow end stacks, many of which still have their slate pots. The buildings have a double-pile plan with the rear elevation facing Steep Street, which includes an additional house. The terrace consists of three storeys, generally featuring two-window fronts with mostly sash windows set in reveals, although some have been replaced with casements. There are semi-circular headed doorways located to the right. The terrace is attached to the double-fronted number 1 on the uphill side.
Between numbers 7 and 8, there is an additional house with a narrow frontage to Steep Street, created by flying freeholds. This house also has three storeys, a single window range of 12-pane sashes, and a projecting gabled extension.
