Description
8 Mount Pleasant is a Regency house that is part of a terrace range consisting of Nos. 2-11 Mount Pleasant and No. 14 Steep Street, which are stepped down the hillside. The walls are rendered, and the slate roofs feature matching narrow end stacks, many of which still have their slate pots. The building has a double-pile plan with a rear elevation facing Steep Street, where there is an additional house. It stands three storeys tall and generally has two-window fronts, primarily with sash windows, most of which are in reveals, although some have been replaced with casements. The doorways are semi-circular headed and located to the right. Number 8 specifically has roughcast render, retains all its sash windows, features a six-panelled door with a fanlight, and includes a tripartite full-length sash window on the ground floor.
