Description
This is a terrace of Regency-style houses, built in the early 19th century, situated on a hillside. The houses, numbered 2 to 11 Mount Pleasant and 14 Steep Street, are terraced together. The walls are rendered and the roofs are slate, with narrow, matching end stacks and many retaining slate pots. The houses have a double-pile plan, meaning they are two rooms deep, with a rear elevation facing Steep Street, which includes an additional house. They are three storeys high and generally have two-window fronts. Most windows are sash windows, set in reveals, with some replacements and a few casements. Semi-circular doorways are located on the right-hand side. Number 11 is attached to the uphill-facing side of number 1 and extends around the bottom corner, featuring a three-window range with one window to each elevation. The windows on this section are mostly sash windows with glazing bars, though the panes are varied. The ground floor windows have architraves. A cambered-headed basement entrance faces downhill.
