Description
57 Cross Street is a three-storey building with a painted brick front and a natural slate roof, featuring a double depth plan and a central entry. The ground floor includes a recessed central entry shopfront with a plain stall-riser and plate glass display windows, topped by a fascia that spans the entire width. On the first floor, there are two over two pane sash windows with heads that have dropped keystones, while the floor above has smaller but similar sash windows. The building is adorned with a dentil eaves cornice and has a low pitch plain roof with a red brick stack on the right gable. The rear elevation has not been inspected.
Inside, remnants of a two-storey timber framed house are visible, including a few beams, most of the principal rafter structure for the rear roof slope, and a first floor fireplace featuring a massive stone lintel.
