Description
The Grange is a three-storey building, constructed with a brick facade that is faced in stucco and painted. It features long and short chamfered quoins and bands at the floor levels, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The layout is a double depth central entry plan with five windows across the front. A Roman Doric pedimented porch with a pilastered door-case leads to a six-panel door and transom light. The windows are double hung with 6 over 6 pane sashes; the ground and first floor windows have keystones, while the upper floor windows are 3 over 6 pane only. The building has a parapet and an M-roof with external gable stacks. The rear elevation is also stuccoed and painted, featuring 6 over 6 sash windows.
Inside, the most notable feature is the staircase, which has an open well form, closed string, panelled square newels, turned balusters with knops, and a moulded pine handrail. The design of the staircase suggests that the house was built before 1750.
