Description
16 St. James' Street is a Grade II listed building with a stucco front that is painted, likely over brick, and features a Welsh slate roof. The building has a double depth central entry plan and stands three storeys tall with three windows. The windows are double hung sashes with stone cills, featuring 2 over 2 panes on the ground floor, 6 over 6 on the first floor, and 3 over 3 on the upper floor. The entrance is highlighted by a timber Roman Doric doorcase with a broken pediment, and there is a transom light above a six-panel door. The building has overhanging eaves and a hipped bell-cast roof with brick stacks on either wall. The rear elevation is also rendered and painted. This building is part of The Grange Preparatory School, although the interior was not seen during the resurvey.
