Description
The entrance gates, boundary wall, and railings to the former Bethany Chapel are designed in the Aesthetic Movement style and date from 1882. The gatepiers are made of red brick with Bath stone dressings, featuring chamfered stone bases, brick piers with vertical recessed panels, and large pyramidal capping stones. The cast-iron entrance gates and railings include horizontal panels with marginal bars, which are adorned with small sunflowers at the corners as decorative elements. The inset centre panels display large radiating sun-rays.
