Description
Nos. 62 and 64 Monnow Street is a building featuring roughcast render designed to imitate ashlar, topped with a natural slate roof. It has a double depth plan with a central entry and stands three storeys tall with three windows. The ground floor includes a central plank door leading to the house entry, flanked by shopfronts on either side. The shopfront to the left retains its original frame and dentil cornice, although the window and door are from the late 20th century. The shopfront on the right is entirely from the late 20th century. On the first floor, there are two 6 over 6 pane sash windows to the right (No. 64), while the left side (No. 62) features a plastic replacement window. The upper floor has 3 over 6 pane sashes to the right and a plastic 6 over 6 pane window to the left. All windows are fitted with stone cills. The building has a low pitch roof with stacks on either gable. The rear elevation is not visible. The interior was not seen during the resurvey.
