Description

This listing describes a pair of cast iron K6 type telephone call boxes located beside The Shire Hall. They have a rectangular plan and feature a domed roof. The boxes have small paned windows on two sides and a timber door with small panes at the front. The rear is plain iron with the maker's name located at the base. Above the doors and windows, there is opalescent glass with the word "TELEPHONE." The dome is supported by flat squinches that carry crowns, with one side displaying the crown of Elizabeth II and the other side the crown of George VI.
