Description
6 St. John Street is a two-storey building with a narrow double depth plan, likely constructed in the 18th century. The exterior features roughcast rendering that is painted, probably over brick, and is topped with a natural slate roof that is mostly concealed by a parapet. The front facade has four doors and four windows on the ground floor arranged as follows: door, door, door, window, window, door, door, window. Above, there are six windows. The doors are plain, consisting of four panels each, and are set in elliptical arched openings. The sash windows have six panes over six panes and are fitted with stone cills. A painted plinth and a band run above the first floor, just below the eaves. The shared stacks are located on the ridge. The rear elevation has not been seen. Notably, the interior planning is unusual because two of the houses have two upper floor windows while the other two have one.
