Description
Nos. 33 and 35 New Market Street are a pair of houses featuring late Georgian frontages. They are attached at each side and, unlike most of the other buildings in the area, open directly onto the street. The houses are rendered and painted, with slate roofs; number 33 has an artificial slate roof that includes rooflights. There are brick cross-ridge stacks at the centre and end right. The buildings are two storeys high with an attic and each has a two-window range. The first floor features 12-pane sash windows in raised surrounds, with number 35 having moulded surrounds. On the ground floor, each house has a tripartite window and a side doorway with a similar raised surround, set back with 6-panelled doors and divided overlights. A quoin-strip at the left separates the two houses, and there is a plinth with ventilation grilles.
