Description
This is a small brick barn located to the east of the Ty Mawr Gatehouse, constructed with a blue slate roof. The brickwork has a warm red color similar to that of the gatehouse and is laid in Flemish bond. The barn has a rectangular plan, aligned parallel to the road, and likely consists of four structural bays. There is a full-height wagon doorway that is offset to the right of center, which now features a modern sliding door. To the left of this doorway, there is a large triangular buttress made of later red brick, while to the right, there is a small blocked doorway.
Attached to the eastern end of the barn is a single-cell milkhouse, built of rubble and also covered with a slate roof, connecting it to the gatehouse. The front wall of the milkhouse has been fitted with a large sliding door above a three-step milk churn platform, and the rear wall is covered by a wooden shed. The rear of the barn was not inspected.
