Description
This is a barn located immediately to the east of Old Hall Farmhouse, dating from the early 18th century and altered over time. It is constructed of brindled brick in random bond and has a Welsh slate roof. The barn is two storeys high and consists of four bays. There are boarded doors in bay three, which are sheltered by a roof projection on brick piers. To the left, there is a stable door with the remains of a brick hoodmould and two slit vents to its right. Above, there is a boarded hatch and four additional slit vents. Bay four features slit vents arranged in three rows and a boarded hatch. At the rear, there is an opposed wagon entrance with boarded doors, and the wall has been rebuilt. The left return shows a brick hoodmould above a former gable hatch. Inside, the barn has principal rafter trusses with raking struts, collars, and two purlins on each slope. Later additions at each end of the barn are not considered to be of special interest.
