Description
This is a small threshing barn, now used as a store, located opposite Ty Mawr Gatehouse. The barn is constructed partly from rubble and partly from timber framing. The lower half of the walls is made of large, roughly-coursed rubble, while the upper half is covered with five tiers of horizontal weatherboarding. The barn has a rectangular four-bay layout that runs parallel to the road and faces north. In the third bay, there is a tall wagon entry that breaks the eaves, with the roof slightly raised over this entry.
Inside, there are three pegged collar trusses, with the principals on the front slope of the roof shaped like cruck blades. The wall framing features short, broad studs positioned between the sill and wallplate, to which the weatherboard cladding is attached using wooden pegs. The rear of the barn has not been inspected.
