Description

Nos. 13 and 14 Lower Church Street are late Georgian houses consisting of two units, with no. 14 currently serving as a surgery. The buildings feature painted rendered walls and a slate roof with low end stacks. They stand three storeys tall and have a three-window arrangement. The second floor has 4/8-pane sash windows set in reveals, with the centre window blocked. On the first floor, there is a 6/6-pane sash window on the left, a blind window in the centre, and to the right, a wide flat-roofed canted bay that includes sash windows in an exposed frame on each face, wider in the centre and topped with a leaded cornice. The ground floor has adjacent panelled doors within moulded doorcases, topped with a continuous flat hood, and similar sashes are found on the sides. The side elevation of no. 14 is mostly blank. Each house has a small bow-railed forecourt. Inside, the stairs in each house rise parallel to the frontage behind the front room.
