Description

The Cast House and Foundry is a pair of single-storey, rectangular buildings dating from the 19th century. Their gable end facades are constructed of stone rubble masonry, with some areas patched in brick. Ashlar dressings highlight the quoins and ground floor openings, while a stone band course adds a pediment treatment. The upper level openings feature brick dressings. Remnants of additional cast houses can be found on either side.

The Cast House features a main facade with three semi-circular arched ground floor openings that spring from square piers. Above, there are three upper openings: the larger central one has a semi-circular arch, while the outer two are ocular windows. The roof is pitched and covered with slate. At the east corner of the building, there is the base of a cupola furnace.

The Foundry's main facade at ground level has three openings, with signs of other blocked openings. The larger central opening is an elliptical arch, flanked by a semi-circular arched opening to the south and a rectangular opening to the north. The roof of this building is missing, and a cupola furnace and enclosure are located at the east corner.
