Description

The Foundry is an early 19th-century building located on Tyne Green Road. It is two storeys high and features three windows, with its gable end facing the street. The exterior is constructed of coursed rubble and includes quoins. The windows are glazing bar sash types with raised surrounds. There is a raised doorcase with a hood above a half-glazed door that has a rectangular light above it. Additionally, there is one window in the gable end facing the street. The building has a hipped roof and two modern brick vent chimneys on the ridge. The Foundry, along with Nos 2 to 4 Foundry Cottages, forms a group, with Nos 2 to 4 being of local interest.
