Description
The memorial to Annie Lawrence is located in the churchyard of St Ilan in Eglwysilan. It features a marble sculpture of a woman dressed in classical robes, holding a bunch of flowers. The sculpture is set on a tall sandstone base that includes a moulded plinth and cornice. On the east side of the base, there is an inscription in engraved letters that reads: 'Erected by public subscription in honoured memory of Annie Dorothy Lawrence ... of Abertridwr who died August 17th 1908 yielding up her life rather than her virtue'.
