Description
The lych gate at the church of St Ilan in Eglwysilan is square in plan and constructed of roughly coursed rubble sandstone. It features a pyramidal roof covered with reconstituted stone tiles, which were laid between 1980 and 1984, and is topped with a weathervane finial. Attached to the east and west sides are churchyard walls. The south and north sides have wide segmental arches, with the entrance featuring a pair of cast iron gates that have spike finials on the railings. Inside, there are integral stone benches along the sides.
