Description
Nos. 41-47 form a block of four two-storey houses located on the Circus within the Garden Suburb. While simpler and more altered than the surrounding blocks, it retains elements of a butterfly plan derived from the Arts and Crafts style. Each house has a two-window front. The houses are arranged so that each block reflects the diagonally opposite one. The exterior walls are pebbledashed, and the roof is slate, with removed chimney stacks. Replacement top-hung casement windows are present throughout, and ground floor windows feature hoodmoulds. Small gables are positioned over the two central windows (Nos. 43 and 45). Bracketed hoods shelter the doorways. Decorative brick diamond detailing and a tile string course are visible on each elevation. The block was likely constructed during the Inter War period, between 1919 and 1945.
