Description
Nos 38-48 Garden Suburbs is a terraced group of six two-storey cottages, designed in reflected pairs. The cottages feature pebble-dashed fronts, tiled roofs, and brick chimney stacks. Each pair has asymmetrical gables with cambered-headed windows. Much of the original leaded casement glazing is still in place, although some replacements are in a similar style. The gables include four-light windows on the first storey and three-light windows below, next to the entrances. The end properties, Nos 38 and 48, have five-light ground floor windows. Each cottage has gabled hoods over boarded doors, which have a wave-shaped head with an inset small-pane light. Between each pair of gables are twinned, flat-roofed, tile-hung dormers with three-light windows. These dormers sit above splayed bay windows that flank a through-passage, with their roofs extending to create a hood over the round-arched entrance of the passage.
