Description

Nos 21-27 form a terrace of four houses built in the early 20th century as part of the Garden Suburb development. The houses are rendered with a pebbledashed finish, topped with a hipped tiled roof and swept eaves, and feature two brick ridge stacks. The design is symmetrical, with half-height gables projecting from the ends of the terrace at Nos 21 and 27. Originally, the upper windows were camber-arched leaded casements with brick sills, while the ground floor windows were square-headed. Doorway to No 21 has a bracketed hood, and No 27 features a porch. The central houses, Nos 23 and 25, have paired hipped gables, originally with square-headed four-light windows to the first floor, and canted bays beneath a shared hood that extends over paired doorways. Most of the glazing and doors have been replaced.
