Description
11-12 Upper Colliers Row is part of a row of mostly altered two-storey stone cottages with slate roofs. Some stone chimneys still exist, and a few original window openings may remain unchanged. Catslide roofs are generally visible at the rear, with many having been extended. Several cottages have been joined together, and there are gardens in front with some remaining stone walls. To the south, there is an area of irregular enclosures or allotments associated with the cottage row.
Nos 11 and 12 are joined and have undergone significant alterations. They feature painted roughcast and share stone end stacks with Nos 10 and 13. Each outer bay has a late 20th-century window on both floors, with the lower window set further out, all of which were widened in the 20th century. The inner doors include a late 20th-century double porch for No 11, while the door for No 12 has been removed.
The interior is not available for inspection, but it is said to have joisted floors, fireplaces on the left and right with winding staircases nearby, timber in No 11 and stone in No 12.
